Chalk Paint Mirror Frame

Apply chalk paint to the mirror frame for a vintage look frame.

For this mirror frame i went with a lighter blue annie sloan chalk paint in duck egg. Chalk paint dries pretty fast. Just go for it. Chalk paint dries pretty fast.

Use a round paint brush to get the best coverage over the frame. Chalk paint drys very quickly. Paint entire mirror frame 2 3 coats of white chalk paint allowing dry time between coats. Like i said i read online that we d be able to easily scrape off the chalk paint.

Pushing it into the curves and grooves gives it more of a softer coastal look. You should apply two to three coats to the frame. It was pretty convenient that there was already a layer of blue paint on there. Tape off mirror with painter s tape for easier clean up in the end.

Scrape the paint off the mirror with a razor blade. He said it was actually super easy. The instructions just said to spray the mirror with window cleaner. Use french linen to apply a wash over the white coat.

30 minutes is the approximate time for each light coat to dry. Paint the entire mirror frame and make sure to properly cover any detailing or crevices. Once the chalk paint was dry i wiped on annie sloan s white wax with a lint free cloth. Now you are ready to spray paint the mirror frame with the chalk paint.

Once it s dry 20 30 mins for this project you can add the wax. Take your time while using the chalk paint to ensure that the frame is fully covered.
